| November 2008: | ProjectNetWorld® now comes with a new look |
Modern project management doesn't have to be complicated nor expensive - however, in times of increasing decentralization and flexible processes, a uniform, standardized work platform is required that ensures permanent availability and a high degree of data security. It must provide all this along with easy customization to company standards and maximum cost transparency.
ProjectNetWorld® fulfils all of these requirements: the software is available via the Internet (software as a service model) and can be used immediately. It can be used for as many projects as required, independent of the number of project members. It has an intuitive user interface, a modular design and it provides all project management tools that are actually needed for project work. It also enables you to limit costs to specific projects and their duration.
However, because the best software can still be improved, ProjectNetWorld® now comes with a new look and new features:
- new layout
- AJAX technology (Web 2.0)
- automatic data compression
- .zip upload- and export functionality
All this means, more user-friendliness, faster performance as well as the highest degree of data security and availability due to the operation of ProjectNetWorld® via a high security computer center.
See for yourself: Try ProjectNetWorld® for 30 days free-of-charge with no obligation. During this time, you will have access to all functions as well as comprehensive support.
Set up your demo account today and get your projects done.
| August 2008: | Innovations in the next ProjectNetWorld, coming in the autumn |
The new version 5.1.1 of ProjectNetWorld.com, planned for the autumn, offers users a completely new look to the desktop. Using Web 2.0 technology such as Ajax it has been possible to achieve a quantum leap in user friendliness, which will create a completely new feel to the way it works. You can look forward to tried and tested structures in the working areas and an intuitive usability, the like of which has never been seen before.
One highlight of the coming version is the "Multiple Upload" function which includes the automatic transfer of the desired folder structure. As a result, it takes just one click to transfer locally stored folder structures (or parts of these) including all files to ProjectNetWorld.com.
The considerable increase in the speed of the data transfer brings savings in time. In future, data will be zipped automatically and thus transferred in a compressed form. Compression rates of up to 80% reduce response times noticeably and enable even those users who do not have a particularly good internet connection to work to full capacity with ProjectNetWorld.com.

| October 2007: | Optimized document management saves time |
The new version 4.4.1 offers significant document management improvements that help minimize your efforts for managing your documents.
The new version allows you to check out, download and move several documents or entire folder structures simultaneously using a multiple-selection feature. Individual documents as well as entire folder structures can now be downloaded and compressed using an integrated ZIP function. An automatically-created table of contents, in the form of a report file, enables you to document and trace the transfer of data.
The folder view is another feature that is now easier to use. In the current version, folders for which a project participant has no authorization can be hidden or, if desired, displayed crossed out. In this way, participants can quickly determine which folders are relevant for their work.
Additional automated document description features have also been developed for the existing automated function in order to simplify time-consuming and error-prone document description activities. ProjectNetWorld now provides you with the option of using description modules that cannot be changed. The assignment of a document name takes place automatically when the document is uploaded. This helps to avoid errors and gaps when labeling documents.
Another new feature also allows you to send document and folder links in a notification. This enables you to inform project members via e-mail regarding reworked or newly uploaded documents and folders. Project members can use this link to access the desired document or folder with no time-consuming searching required.
| October 2007: | Expanded filter and search functions for form management |
The new version offers expanded filter and search functions, making it easier to work with database forms. In addition, current form changes are displayed automatically. The history of a form can, therefore, be retraced without problem.
| October 2007: | Invitation by roles for meeting management |
Cross-company meeting coordination is an essential component of multi-location projects. Invitations to meetings can now be sent according to roles as well as individual persons. Administrative effort can be greatly reduced here, above all, for large groups that are assigned specific roles.
We were also able to add another new feature for meeting invitations. You can now send links with relevant meeting information directly in the e-mail invitation, e.g. the minutes of the last meeting.
| October 2007: | Implementing the latest technology |
This version also uses the latest technologies. The use of AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) ensures easy and time-saving navigation in the folder structure because only those areas in which you are actually working get updated on the screen.
| February 2007: | Multi-document uploading saves time |
The DMS system has been expanded with a multi-document upload option. Now several files can be uploaded at the same time to ProjectNetWorld and, if necessary, assigned to different folders all in one work step. New technology makes this possible. We are using new technology called AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) for folder allocation. AJAX provides a completely new web experience. This technology enables information to be transferred more quickly because it only updates the area actually being used rather than the entire browser window. AJAX also displays the exact progress of document uploads providing the user with the current upload status.
| February 2007: | Uniform automatic document naming for projects |
A project-specific adjustment of document descriptions is now possible. When documents are uploaded, they can now be defined individually using key terms such as the project code, folder code, file name, date in different formats, version number, etc. then collected and used as the standard in the project. You can now also save documents locally from ProjectNetWorld using the file name or document name. This provides uniformity when exchanging documents between project members. It also enables you to find documents more quickly in combination with the full-text search.
| February 2007: | Bookmarks make document management easier |
Another new feature is the use of bookmarks that can be managed in folders. Bookmarks are used to reference documents and they replace the need to upload several documents in different folders. For example, document transfers or the creation of final documentation can be easily controlled using bookmarks independent of folder authorizations. Naturally, this new bookmark feature is also combined with the version management feature of the DMS system and also enables you to reference defined versions or always reference the current version of a document.
| February 2007: | Improved portfolio graphics |
We have improved the display of graphics in the current version through the use of JFreeChart, which will benefit users particularly in the display of project portfolio views.
